House Oewerdans

A north-facing plot right by the edge of Onrus lagoon is not something you come by easily. But it is definitely the kind of project we like to get involved with. That is why when the owners of this beautiful home put out a tender for the demolition of the existing house, we jumped on it. We knew instantly that we simply had to be involved with the project to build the new house.

Great care went into protecting the old Milkwood trees on the plot. With this reverence for Mother Nature in mind, the house was designed to be modern but also to embrace the natural elements that surround it. The use of raw concrete and steel frames is offset beautifully by wood and stone elements. The owner’s artistic flair completes the picture. Items from their art collection – and even a motorcycle in the living room – give the house a distinctively person feel.
